RFI’s

1. RFI 44 answer states that the high expansion foam may need to be moved/adjusted to new locations to meet the coverage requirement for the new aircraft. Are we to comply with UFC 4- 211-01 for the fire protection requirements? This will cause the existing high expansion foam system to be obsolete. A new aircraft and a complete redesign will be required to comply with

UFC4-211-01.

Response to RFI 44: Modifications to the existing fire protection system shall be iaw UFC 4-211- 01 and/or ETL 2-15. The intent is not to bring the existing system up to the new criteria/code but to ensure proper suppression coverage for the aircraft. Relocation of existing foam generator(s) is anticipated.

2. We are receiving multiple responses to the design requirements 1.11.4.7. It has been brought to our attention that the DM representative during the site walk stated that no fire alarm work is required under this RFP due to the system being current to base standards. Also paragraph

1.11.4.7 states to replace newer model fire/MNS panel, but does not state that the devices require replacement. The existing fire/MNS devices will have to be replaced if a new fire/MNS panel is installed.

Response to RFI 45: Replacement of the existing FA/MNS panel is not required.
