About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the replacement of multiple sunshade structures damaged by Hurricane Helene at Moody Air Force Base (AFB), specifically at the Mission Lake Playground, Child Development Center (CDC), and Outdoor Pool. The project requires a contractor to remove and replace damaged shade structures, including removing existing hardware, installing new UV-resistant weatherproof fabric, and ensuring proper installation with taut, non-sagging structures.

The scope involves replacing a 45'x55' 3-Dome Hanging Cantilever Shade at the playground, four shade structures at the CDC (ranging from 12'x12' to 24-1/2'x24-1/2'), and four shade structures at the Outdoor Pool (including a 10'x10' Slide Sunshade and a 90'x18'x11' 4-Post Shade Structure). The contractor must supply all necessary equipment, including a Lull Forklift, dumpster, and portable restroom, and provide a 1-year standard warranty. The final colors will be determined by the customer, with the Outdoor Pool shade structures specified to be blue.

Statement of Work

Replace Multiple Sunshade Structures at Moody AFB – 23d FSS

1. Scope The project involves the replacement of multiple shade structures on Moody AFB. The damages were incurred during Hurricane Helene, necessitating the demolition and replacement of shade structures at our Mission Lake Playground, Child Development Center (CDC), and Outdoor Pool. The objective of the project is to restore the structural integrity, functionality, safety, and aesthetics of the shade structures at Moody AFB.

2. Background 23d FSS strives to meet the needs of our customer base. Hurricane Helene did extensive damage to multiple shade structures across Moody AFB. Moody AFB is not able to supply the demand for our playground, CDC, and Outdoor Pool to our customers due to the damage sustained by Hurricane Helene. This has a direct, negative impact on the health of the MWRF. Replacing these shade structures will allow Moody AFB to recover these lines of income in support of the MWRF.
