About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a federal contract involving shade structure replacements at three locations: Child Development Center (CDC), Mission Lake Playground, and Outdoor Pool. The project requires replacing shade structures and fabrics, with specific requirements for each site. Key details include a 120-day period of performance, a 1-year warranty covering both labor and materials, and a requirement to submit individual Action Plans for each site. The replacement work involves multiple shade structures of varying sizes, including 10' x 10', 18' x 24', 18.5' x 27.5' (two preschool structures), 24.5' x 24.5' (pavilion), and a 12.5' x 12.5' toddler sunshade. At the Outdoor Pool, three fabric pieces on 18 x 30 cantilevers will be replaced, with one structure (#4 above the slide) requiring only fabric replacement. The procurement will be evaluated using a "Lowest Price Technically Acceptable" method, with evaluation factors listed in the Combined Synopsis.

Q: Can you confirm whether underground utilities exist near post areas, particularly at the Outdoor Pool where concrete resetting may be required?

A: Electrical is present due to the lights that are near the footings of the shade structures.

Q: Are recent inspection reports or photos of the damaged structures available for review?

A: See the attached pictures.

Materials & Color Selection

Q: Beyond “Lowest Price Technically Acceptable,” will past performance be considered in the evaluation?

A: Evaluation factors are listed in the description of the requirement as well as in the Combined Synopsis.

Q: Overall photos of the shades, along with close-up images showing how they are attached to the frames

A: See the attached pictures.
