About this file

This document outlines the salient characteristics and specifications for a 6,000-gallon self-contained fuel dispensing system required to support Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) operations. The system is designed to store and dispense Jet-A fuel directly on the flight line, establishing a centralized, static refueling point that increases operational efficiency by reducing dependence on mobile fuel trucks and minimizing aircraft servicing times.

The system features a UL 2085 labeled and listed Fireguard double-wall tank constructed of heavy-gauge steel (1/4" shells and 5/16" heads) with an epoxied interior lining compatible with Fuel System Icing Inhibitor additives such as DiEGME and an Envirolastic 940 DTM polyaspartic urethane exterior finish. The dispensing and metering system includes a gas station-style dispenser with anti-syphon valve rated at 40-50 GPM for dispensing and 60-90 GPM for filling, a 1" Hannay hose reel with 25 feet of hose and swivel, a Total Control 682-15 piston meter with 10:1 pulser, and an EI 1581 filter/separator housed in a UL listed lockable cabinet (3'6" x 4'2" x 6'6") with a 3'x6' roll-up door. Safety features include overfill prevention with a high-level shut-off valve, dual 8" emergency pressure/vacuum vents, a 3" stack vent extending 12 feet above grade, a 2" clock gauge with integrated alarm for fuel level monitoring, and an interstitial leak gauge for secondary containment monitoring. A stand-alone filtration and recirculation system is required to maintain fuel quality. The system includes an external ladder with safety shield, 24" manway for tank accessibility, complete tank decal kit, and is backed by a 30-year tank warranty from the Steel Tank Institute.

Salient Characteristics of 6,000-Gallon Fuel Dispensing System

We are requesting to purchase a 6,000-gallon self-contained fuel dispensing system to support Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) operations. This system provides a safe, robust, and compliant solution for storing and dispensing Jet-A fuel directly on the flight line. Its purpose is to establish a centralized, static refueling point for AGE assets, increasing operational efficiency by reducing reliance on mobile fuel trucks and minimizing aircraft servicing times.

The system is engineered for safety and durability in a demanding airfield environment. It is built to the UL 2085 "Fireguard" standard, meaning it is a fire-protected, bullet-resistant, and impact-resistant double-wall tank. Integrated safety features include emergency venting, overfill prevention with a high-level shut-off valve, and an interstitial leak gauge to ensure containment integrity. The lockable dispensing cabinet houses a complete, ready-to-use refueling package, including a pump, meter, hose reel, and nozzle, providing a secure and accountable method for dispensing fuel. This turnkey system is essential for maintaining a ready and responsive AGE fleet.
