About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the cleaning requirements for a 10,000-gallon diesel fuel tank and associated piping located at Building 933 on Holloman Air Force Base. The contractor must remove approximately one inch of algae-contaminated residual fuel, pressure wash the tank's interior and 300 feet of 4-inch diameter piping using an appropriate cleaning solution, and properly dispose of all waste water. Additional requirements include removing the 25-bolt hatch cover, replacing the 26-inch diameter manhole gasket/sealant, and replacing gaskets at critical line junctions.

The project completion is contingent upon a CE Inspector's final approval, verifying that the tank interior is clean and all waste products have been removed. The tank is situated 180 feet from the nearest pavement, accessible by vehicle over gravel, and supplementary documentation includes a site plan drawing and tank/piping photographs. The work is scheduled for May 1, 2025, with a pre-work site visit planned for April 30, 2025, at 1000 hours, meeting at the base visitor center.

STATEMENT OF WORK

CLEAN FUEL TANK & PIPING, BLDG 933

May 1, 2025

1. The Contractor shall clean a 10-000 gallon diesel fuel tank and associated piping at Bldg 933.

2. There is an inch or so of residual fuel remaining in the bottom of the tank and lines. It is contaminated with algae.

3. A Site Plan drawing is attached. The location of the tank is circled in red. Several pictures of the tank and piping are also attached.

4. There is an access hatch on top of the tank. The hatch cover is attached with 25 bolts that must be removed.

5. The tank is located about 180' from pavement. There is gravel between the tank and the pavement. A vehicle can drive over the gravel to the tank.

6. Pressure wash the inside of the tank and 300' of piping. Use a cleaning solution appropriate for algae contaminated diesel tanks. The piping is about 4" in diameter. All waste water shall then be removed and properly disposed of.

7. Once all work is complete, notify the CE Inspector that the work is complete. The CE

Inspector will then inspect the tank. The project will be considered complete when the inside of the tank is clean and all waste products have been removed.

8. Replace the gasket/sealant for the manhole on top of the tank. The manhole is about 26" in diameter. Replace the gasket/sealant at all critical junctions in the lines.
