About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) addendum for a bat guano remediation contract opportunity. The file clarifies the scope, requirements, and allowable methodologies for the project involving three buildings requiring guano removal, cleaning, and disinfection services.
The scope of work is limited to guano removal, cleaning, and disinfection only, with no inclusion of entry point sealing or bat-proofing measures, as the government has already completed bat-proofing to the best of its ability. The government specifies that R-30 rolled insulation is sufficient for replacement purposes, addressing vendor concerns about pricing accuracy. TB-Cide is approved for killing spores in guano as a cost-effective remediation approach. Regarding project scheduling, the government indicates flexibility with timing to allow consideration of protected bat species preservation during spring nesting season, requesting that vendors propose specific start dates and execution timeframes in their offers. The one-time nature of this cleaning service means no warranty provisions are anticipated.

Bat Guano Remediation Additional Questions
1. Based on the language in the SOW, please can you confirm that the required work is limited to guano removal, cleaning and disinfection but not any work relating to identification and sealing of entry points to prevent bat reentry to the buildings.
The work does NOT include any sealing of entry points.
2. We want to ensure that our pricing for this project is fair and of good value to the government and importantly the R-Value of the insulation impacts pricing significantly.
R-30 rolled insulation is sufficient.
3. Is it possible to please request a picture of the R-Value markings/paper side of the downed insulation so that we can be more accurate on replacement cost or could someone on location please obtain the current R-value and advise vendors?
See answer to question 2.
4. Without the accurately required R-Value offers may be unnecessarily inflated to account for the unknown.
See answer to question 2.
5. Have the 3 buildings been bat-proofed? Without bat-proofing the bats will eventually return and a warrant cannot be offered. If not Bat-Proofed, can we include additional pricing to do so, which will enable us to offer a warranty.
The government has bat proofed all buildings to the best of our ability, and bat proofing is NOT included in the scope of this project. This service is for a one-time cleaning.
6. Can TB-Cide be used to kill the spores in the guano? This will allow for a more cost-effective remediation solution.
Yes, TB-Cide is appropriate.
7. Is there any flexibility on the completion timing to allow the bats to leave the nest in the spring, thereby preserving them as a protected species Yes, we are flexible with scheduling, to an extent. Please propose specific start dates and execution times.
