| Pre-Bid RFIs | ||||
| Project: Repair Well Fields Cathoic Protection , Beale AFB, CA | Project No: 1135097 | Date: 8/19/2024 | ||
| RFI # | Date Submitted | Response Date | RFI Details | RFI Response |
| 1 | 8/15/24 | 8/19/24 | Can the line be just off the shoulder of the improved road | As stated, in the approved af-813, that all work remains on or surrounded by paved, gravel, or hadened surface only. Therefor; work is not allowed outside of the gravel roads or the hardend area (specified in maps) around the wells. |
| 2 | 8/15/24 | 8/19/24 | Can the cathodic well site be off, away from the improved road approximately 15ft from the road? | See repsonse #1. |
| 3 | 8/15/24 | 8/19/24 | Can the cathodic well site be fenced (8X8ft) off-road to keep live stock from destroying it? | Through the design, the location of the ande bed and the type of the well head including protective measures of the structures will be identified. |
| 4 | 8/15/24 | 8/19/24 | What level of design is comparable to SF1442, Section M, Volume II Subfactor two, designated as a “schematic” ? | Not found in Soliciation, section M, CONS to ask contractor for clarification |
| 5 | 8/15/24 | 8/19/24 | Page 2 of the 813 states the anode bed will be installed a minimum of 300 ft away. Can the anode be installed within the water well fence area? | Design engineer (based on the standard requirement including UFGS specs) given and site condition will provide the required distance between the anode bed and any metal structures inclduding well casing. |
Note: Two proposed actions are offered in the af-813, Page-2, Proposed actions.
Part-1, explains general scope of work of a Single source CP system (combining all wells to one anode bed) for environmental assessment, with aproximate distances needed, which does not governs the technical expectation such as exact distance between the structures. the distanc betwen the single anode bed and well casings can be provided based on the technical specification and standard requirements by designer. af-813 limits digging outside the improved roads and specified (in map) locations around the wells.
Part 2. explains seperate CP system for each well.
