BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, CALIFORNIA

MEMORANDUM FOR 9 CONS
FROM: 9 CES/CEOER
SUBJECT: Handyman Contract (SON) FP-1014429 Replace fence and install new gates B3340
I GENERAL SCOPE
A. The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, materials, operations and incidentals as required to remove damaged chain link fence/posts and, install approximately 411 lineal feet of new fence and gates per details below and map provided by Beale CEN PM.
1). All new posts shall be 3’ below grade anchored in concrete. Use 2”-4” diam. standard gauge post as required at each location, placed 10ft. on center or less as dictated by layout.
2) New fencing and gates shall be 6’ high. .New fence fabric shall be 9ga wire, close looped.
3) Map area “A” New 6ft.fence/gate running from NE corner of B-3340 parallel to building to tie in with new post at baseball outfield fence. Install new 4 ft. gate at sidewalk, double swing with padlock capable latch. Add new additional posts as required. Approximately 47 lineal ft. including gate.
4) Map area “B” Demo and remove ~8ft. fence/posts section jutting from corner of leftfield fence. Demo and remove all fencing from near building 3310 to SE fence corner, including removal of blackberry bush and small tree entangled in fence. Remove the old detached end post at NW corner of B-3310 and install new 4”diam. corner post.. Install new posts, 6ft. fencing and gates as needed per map layout. Replace or repair existing bent post. Cut post tops to 1-2” above new fencing.
5) Map area “C” Southern fence line will remain as is with the following exceptions: a) Cut fence at SE corner post to allow East fence to be removed and reattach South fence properly to the corner post. b) Remove and replace severely bent post along South fence line. c)
Add new personnel gate at sidewalk heading to lower soccer field. Fit to existing opening
(approx.3ft). if gate posts are deemed usable, or remove and replace one post to create a new opening for 4ft. wide gate. d) Cut south fence at SW corner to allow removal of west fence.
Reattach existing south fence properly at SW corner post
6) Map area “D” remove and replace approximately 120 ft. of West fencing with new
6ft.fencing.. Attach at SW corner post and run to the end post where existing fencing jogs
90 degrees inward ~8ft. Wire tie the two fences together in the inside corner. Cut existing post tops to 1”-2” above fencing. Remaining fencing and new gate running to SW corner of
B-3340 shall remain as is.
B. Authorized Work. Work shall be accomplished in accordance with all contractually incorporated documents. Any work that is accomplished outside of the contractual documents, unless authorized by a contracting officer, is accomplished at the contractors own risk.
C. All work shall be accomplished between 0700- 1700 Mon-Fri.
D. All contractor vehicles must enter the base via the Wheatland Gate and shall be subject to inspection. All contractor personnel must obtain base passes or be listed on the Entry Access List
(EAL) throughout duration of work performance.
II. WORK ITEMS:
The contractor shall comply with all applicable Federal, State and local construction standards.
Current Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) standards also apply.
Contractor shall be in compliance IAW all NFPA, AFI, UFC and ETL standards for fire safety.
Recyclable metal materials will be routed thru Beale Recycling program. All other waste materials will be disposed of and removed off base by Contractor. Contractor will practice good housekeeping during project.
