SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF PROJECT

9.1. Remove and dispose of all cables, wires, pipes, conduit, junction boxes or mounting hardware, which are severed, disconnected, capped or otherwise no longer in use. Conduits with old, out of service wires shall be cut back as far as possible and terminated with a junction box. Air condition condensation PVC pipes shall be removed above both Boeing Signs

9.2. Install approximately 240 linear feet of 26 gauge, 8” flashing on gable of South side of hangar.

9.3. Remove and replace approximately 257 broken or blocked windowpanes. Most panes are 14” x 20” but sizes may vary. Contractor shall replace windows with Hammered chicken wire glass that is reinforced by mat backing.

9.4. Repair and seal all holes, cracks,spalls and voids in exterior surfaces with products suitable for existing materials.

9.5. Remove cement fill or wood/metal blocked off 15 windows and install new prefabricated sashes and 114 chicken wire glass panes.

9.6. Prefabricate 15 personnel doors to match historical doors from when building was built.

Each door to include four -chicken wire glass panels each. To the degree the requirements of the specifications in 08 71 00 SPECIFICATION DOOR HARDWARE HISTORIC BUILDINGS and 08 11 13 SPECIFICATION STEEL DOORS AND FRAMES HISTORIC BUILDINGS can be met with doors to match the historic doors, those specifications shall be followed. Each Door shall have the 4 windows replaced with chicken wire windows to match original windows.

9.7. Prepare all currently painted surfaces to accept primer and paint. Remove paint from all windows. Remove dirt, rust/corrosion, splinters, loose particles, grease, oil, disintegrated coatings, blistering/cracking/flaking/peeling coatings and other foreign matter and substances deleterious to coating performance before application of primer, paint and/or any other surface treatments.

9.8. Paint all exterior surfaces IAW the specifications in 09 90 00 - SPECIFICATION PAINTS AND COATINGS HISTORIC BUILDINGS with one coat of primer and two coats of paint.

Surfaces to be painted include stucco, masonry, metal siding and flashings, wood and metal surfaces, pipes and conduits, hangar doors and door frames, roll up door, HVAC equipment and stands, gutters, downspouts, window panes and any other surfaces which are currently painted.

9.9. Replace cores of personnel doors with BEST 7 Pin SFIC “M” Satin Chrome (626) un-combinated (item #1CM7M1-626), key blanks “M” keyway (item #1A1M1-KS473-K5800) IAW

08 71 00 SPECIFICATION DOOR HARDWARE HISTORIC BUILDINGS.

9.10. Repair and repaint the building numbers to match original color, font and size. March Air Reserve Base has standard colors and colors shall not be attempted to be matched with digital reproductions. The only approved color match for all exterior colors will be as described in the 8 FEP March ARB June 2016 Signed (FEP). The colors for this building are Antique Linen and Tobacco Brown. A sample will be signed out to the contractor to get a match. The contractor will then return the sample given to them, and the Base Civil Engineer or representative will make a color match determination for approval or disapproval.

9.11. Removal of Hangar Door Skin. The contractor shall remove and replace approximately 3000’ SF of 22-gauge custom rolled corrugated metal siding on the hangar doors as indicated in the Drawings. All materials will be adequately wetted prior to removal to control dust and spread of demolished materials. All removed materials shall be transported to the appropriate off-base disposal facility or recycling center on the same or following day the material is demolished/removed from the building.
