About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a Dyess Air Force Base building move contract opportunity. The document addresses 31 clarification questions submitted by potential contractors regarding a relocation project involving safes, office equipment, furniture, and miscellaneous items across three buildings (4230, 7233, and 6015).

The scope of work includes relocating 10 safes (varying between Type A at 289 lbs and Type B at 355 lbs), 10 heavy-duty shredders (approximately 38.19" x 25.19" x 23.25" and 100-200 lbs each), 40 monitors, 17 printers, 5 TVs, 4 refrigerators, miscellaneous wall art and fixtures (30 pictures/wall art approximately 40"x25", 2 large boards 96"x48", and 4 area rugs ranging from 6'x7' to 12'x9'), office desks and tables, and other equipment. Building 7233 has no elevator, requiring external or internal stairwells for heavy equipment transport. Elevator access will be reserved and available in Building 6015. Government personnel will handle all IT equipment disconnection/reconnection and disassembly/reassembly of furniture; contractors are responsible for relocation and placement only. The period of performance is 15 days from the award date, with specific move dates dependent on contract award. Normal working hours are 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with outside-hours work requiring approval from the Unit and Contracting Officer. All packing materials must be adequate per manufacturer specifications but need not be new. Contractors will receive base passes rather than badges, with base access approval requiring 5 days after submission of personnel information (including citizenship status). Green card holders are permitted with additional OSI questioning (approximately 2-3 hours). Floor protection is at contractor discretion given mixed flooring types. Liquidated damages provisions apply for delays or damages. No insurance or bonding requirements are specified. Government personnel will provide onsite coordination, and a single prime contractor supervisor may fulfill the Trusted Agent requirement for day laborers and subcontractors, which are permitted without limitations.
