About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a demolition project at Dyess Air Force Base (AFB), specifically for building B6119. The project involves complete demolition of a facility, with key requirements including removing the building, driveway, and aprons, handling potential asbestos, and disposing of all construction and hazardous materials off-base. Contractors must provide performance and payment bonds, follow federal/state regulations for waste removal, and have personnel with appropriate state identification. No landfill is available on-base for debris disposal, and contractors are responsible for obtaining necessary materials, water, and handling waste management.

Notable project specifications include: no power available on-site, no additional drawings beyond demolition plans, transformer to be retained by government, no FOD control required, and no SHPO concerns. The submission must be a consolidated document, bid guarantees are required, and past performance documentation is optional. The contract is a service contract, and the Request for Quote (RFQ) will not necessarily be awarded 30 days after submission. Contractors must refer to the Statement of Work (SoW) for detailed specifications on hours of operation, permits, and other project-specific guidelines.
