| Radio-Frequency Identification Tags System FA4626-24-Q-0048 | ||
| Questions and Answers | ||
| Question # | Question | Answer |
| 1 | What types of equipment will the RFID tags be applied to? | Support equipment, Torque Wrenches, etc. Edited down copy of MEL attached (see QA_Atch 1) |
| 2 | What materials are the equipment made of? | Metal or plastic |
| 3 | Will there be Composite Tool Kits (CTKs) or individual tools tracked | Yes |
| 4 | What is the square footage and layout of the facility? | Approximately 2500 Sq Ft. Shown in the MMDF Floor Plan Drawing attachment (see QA_Atch 2). The area is names “VES Storage” on the drawing |
| 5 | Will the equipment need to be tracked outside the facility? | Not initially, but the goal of the future of this project would be to be able to have readers in our MX vans, and be able to read the passive RFID’s while dispatched to the field |
| 6 | Is there a laydown yard for storing equipment? | No, all equipment is kept inside, within an equipment cage |
| 7 | Are vehicles, trailers, or pallets included in the tracking system? | No |
| 8 | According to section 2.1.4 of the PWS, equipment can travel up to a 160-mile radius. Is real-time tracking required within this radius? | No, these cannot have real time tracking due to the sensitivity of our mission. Passive RFID only |
| 9 | If real-time tracking is required within the 160-mile radius, can the contractor set up additional equipment at various locations to ensure coverage? | N/A |
| 10 | What are the temperature ranges for the environment, including the extreme ranges? | Ambient temperature range is -30F Low to 100F High |
| 11 | Will the equipment be stored outside? | No |
| 12 | Will the equipment be used outside? | Yes |
| 13 | The question is regarding how do we gain access to the referenced sharepoint: “All RFID tags and readers used must be 21M-LGM30G-12, Minuteman Nuclear Surety Procedures, approved within 90 days of the contract effective date. The info for this approval process can be found on the “Air Force Nuclear Weapons Safetey Center Sharepoint”. | I would like to emphasize that not having access to the SharePoint should not be a barrier to bid, as NWSC’s opinion is that they can either obtain a CAC or submit the request through someone that does have access. (Big Sky Spark can submit the equipment if needed) |
Additionally, attached is the G-12 Request instructions (see QA_Atch 3) on how to complete the request within the NWSC SharePoint.
Anyone with a CAC card can request access to the Sharepoint. If the contractor/company doesn’t have a CAC card they will have to work through someone who does.
There is already some RFIDs on the G-12 list as well as one in the process.
• One in process is by Zebra Technologies M780 10041052.
Already on the G-12 approved list:
| • | Rubee Visible Asset Blaster |
| • | Rubee Visible Asset 1T tag |
| • | Rubee Visible Asset Sidewinder |
| • | Rubee Tag Reader PRP-100 |
| • | RuBee RFID Steel Security Harsh Environment (ru-bee.com) |
If these devices don’t meet you needs, please submit a new request on the Sharepoint.
14 Do you happen to know the number of users who be using the system? We do concurrent or named users. Please refer to the PWS.
1.3.5 Accounts usage and Training
The Contractor shall provide login information for fifteen (15) standard user accounts and training for a “Train the Trainer” program. The accounts should be able to be generic or tied to an Email Org-box. The information used to train the trainer will be given to the 741 MXS for the purpose of continuity.
| 15 | Would it be possible to send me the URL link to the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Safety Center Sharepoint? | https://usaf.dps.mil/teams/11262/AFMC/AFNWC/niei/SitePages/MMIII-Electrical-Equipment-SharePoint.aspx |
| 16 | We are assuming that you need fixed UHF RFID readers and antennas for the RFID Tags system, is this assumption correct? | Yes. This includes but is not limited to RFID tags, RFID readers, sensors for inventory reporting, Common Access Card (CAC) reader devices, and any software systems required for data management and integration with USAF databases. |
| 17 | We are assuming that you want vendor to provide the Passive UHF RFID tags to be attached to asset/equipment? | Yes |
| 18 | Is there a requirement to remove these Passive UHF RFID tags from assets at any time? | No |
| 19 | What is the minimum and maximum read range you want from these Passive UHF RFID Tags? | This will need to be calibrated, within the VES Equipment Cage. |
| 20 | Could you please highlight the areas on your floor plan layout, where RFID tagged asset/equipment have to be tracked? | VES Storage, identified by #134 on the Floor Plan. |
| 21 | Would you fine if we install fixed RFID readers and antennas on each door to track the entry/exit through that door for the RFID tagged asset? | Yes |
| 22 | Who is responsible to install the Passive UHF RFID tags on the asset/equipment? | The contractor for initial placement, and train military members for replacement. 1.3.3.2 The Contractor shall provide general tech support via over the phone services, software tailoring for changes, updating of system to ensure continued USAF data base integration, and training for RFID replacement. |
| 23 | Or you want system to track the whereabouts of tagged RFID tagged asset in the open areas as well? If yes, then what kind of location accuracy you need for the tagged asset? | No, the system will not track in open areas after exiting the VES Cage. |
| 24 | Do we have to track/locate RFID tagged asset within the tool-trolley, or toolbox, cabinet, or shelving unit? | Yes |
| 25 | Do we have to use any Handheld RFID Readers for any of your use-cases? If yes, how many Handheld RFID Readers are needed? | Yes, 5 |
| 26 | Are we responsible to install all RFID readers/antennas and make their network connections? Or your staff will perform these tasks? | Contractor is responsible for install. |
| 27 | Can we apply for RFID tags and readers to be used for 21M-LGM30G-12, Minuteman Nuclear Surety Procedures approval after the contract award? | Items can only be tagged if the RFID Tags have 21M-LGM30G-12 approval. |
| 28 | Can software be On-Prem solution, which is installed on your server? Will you provide the computer and server for the web-based RFID solution? | We can provide the computer. |
