About this file
This memorandum authorizes the use of the General Services Administration 2nd Generation Information Technology Blanket Purchase Agreement for the purchase of equipment for an audio visual system installation project. The 55th Contracting Squadron at Offutt Air Force Base is procuring and installing an audio visual system for five rooms in building B500 on base. While the project includes services that prevent its award via the 2GIT BPA, this letter allows the awardee to purchase necessary equipment through that contract vehicle in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 52.251-1. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command to install and procure an audio visual system for the specified rooms in building B500 in accordance with provided technical specifications and drawings.

MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: LETTER OF AUTHORIZATION FOR 2GIT PURCHASE
PROJECT: 55 WG B500 CAT/CP AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEM INSTALLATION
Background This requirement is for purchase and installation of an audio visual system for the 55 WG CAT/CP in B500 on Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Authorization Per AFMAN-17-1203, the General Services Administration (GSA) 2nd Generation Information technology (2GIT) BPA is a mandatory source for IT projects. As this IT project includes services, the requirement can not be awarded via this contract vehicle as the 2GIT BPA only provides a mean for commodity purchases.
In order to still meet the GSA 2GIT mandatory source requirement, the 55th Contracting Squadron authorizes the awardee of this contract to purchase the necessary equipment via the GSA 2GIT BPA.
This letter of authorization is in accordance with FAR 52.251-1.
