About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract FA452826C0008 regarding a Bulk Oil & Coolant Storage Dispenser, issued on 25 June 26.

The document addresses manufacturer clarifications on specification requirements for the storage system. Key modifications to the original specifications include: removal of the 115V, 8 GPM electric pumps in favor of two pneumatic pumps (one for each liquid), retention of the 50-foot hose reels, and elimination of the top-mounted 1½-inch Quick Disconnect fittings connected to 2-inch NPT ports requirement. The system will store eight 65-gallon containers as mandatory configuration for two fluids only: one oil (15W-40, multiple sources) and one coolant (ES Compleat PG diluted 50/50, Fleet Guard brand). Annual usage is approximately 290 gallons of oil and 110 gallons of coolant. The customer currently has no centralized dispensing system, with lubricant storage distributed across multiple locations. The manufacturer's custom configurations noted in the specifications may require additional sourcing and approval time beyond standard lead periods.

Questions and Answers V1

FA452826C0008

Bulk Oil & Coolant Storage Dispenser

25 June 26

Additionally, our 8 GPM electric pumps will not work with 50-ft hose reels. If the customer insists on the hose reel, then we would need to use a pneumatic pump. If they insist on the 8 GPM electric pump, then the hose reel would need to be removed.

We do not understand what is required for the “Intake/Supply Ports.” We do not utilize any top-mounted ports for intake or supply.

If only two liquids are being stored, we would recommend the use of our 120-gallon storage containers.

1. The manufacturer noted that the referenced image appears to be one of their tank systems; however, several of the specified components are custom configurations that may require additional sourcing and approval time.

2. The specification calls for 115V, 8 GPM electric pumps and 50-foot hose reels.

According to the manufacturer, their 8 GPM electric pumps are not capable of effectively operating with 50-foot hose reels.

• If the 50-foot hose reels are mandatory, a pneumatic pump would be required.

• If the 8 GPM electric pumps are mandatory, the hose reel configuration may need to be revised.

Could you please clarify whether either requirement may be adjusted, or if an equivalent solution would be acceptable?

Remove the 8gpm pumps. Keep the 50ft Hose reels and add two pneumatic pumps to the request (1 for each liquid).

3. The manufacturer is seeking clarification regarding the requirement for:

“Top-mounted ports utilizing 1½-inch Quick Disconnect (QD) fittings connected to 2-inch NPT ports.”

They do not typically utilize top-mounted intake or supply ports and would appreciate additional information regarding the intended function and application of these ports.

Remove this requirement.

4. The system appears to be intended for storing only two fluids (oil and coolant). The manufacturer recommends using their 120-gallon storage containers for this application and would like to know whether the specified configuration of eight 65-gallon containers is mandatory, or if alternative configurations meeting the required storage capacities would be considered.

Correct we intend to only have two fluids in this system. The 8 containers are mandatory.

Number of lubricants and coolant being used: 1 Oil, and 1 Coolant

Confirmation of the viscosity of each grade: 15W-40, and ES Compleat PG diluted 50/50

Confirmation of the specific brands of each lubricant: Multiple sources, and Fleet Guard

Annual volume used onsite: on average 290 gal of oil, 110 gal of coolant.

Confirmation of current storage and dispensing lubricants being used onsite

If possible could we be able to get a picture the current Lubrication Dispensing System

Could we receive a picture of the lube store”

We do not have a dispensing system. Current storage is in multiple locations.
