Question & Answer

Fire Alarm Maintenance & Repair Services – FA4497-12-R-0005

Quest: "1.1.1. Maintenance Note: The contractor shall be responsible for man-lift equipment if required."

Does this mean if I'm called in for a repair call and find I have a circuit trouble due to device failure in top of hangar and a lift is required to access the device. I would be responsible for a $800 lift rental for a 8 hour service ticket. I would need to factor this into my hourly rate?

Ans: As stated in para. 1.1.1. of the PWS the contractor is responsible for providing a lift. The contractor is to use line item 0008 to invoice for lift rentals as needed and will provide an estimate of repairs (to include lift cost) to the COR for approval, prior to job start for evaluation and to ensure sufficient funds are available.
