About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity FA448426Q0027 regarding dock levelers and related equipment installation.
The solicitation requires eight air-powered dock levelers with 45,000 lb capacity, 7ft x 10ft dimensions, and integrated restraints, with no specific manufacturer required. The 3-phase 460V power serves Blue Giant TL85A-460 electric restraints that must be interlocked with the levelers. Dock shelters with canopy configuration are required for eight door openings, each measuring 111"H x 96"W, to be installed on cinder block and brick wall surfaces. The contractor must remove and dispose of existing equipment (Blue Giant Restraints TL85A-460 and Blue Giant Levelers MA7010-30) and provide dumpster services. This is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 333924 requiring SAM.gov registration. A mandatory site visit was scheduled for Wednesday, August 19th. Prevailing wage and union labor rates do not apply. Base access requires processing through supplemental clause 352.242-9000 Contractor Access to Air Force Installations, with the awarded contractor processed by Security Forces for base pass and vehicle registration. The contract allows for completion periods longer than 60 days due to factory lead times, though funding has specific cutoff dates.
