About this file
This is a Site Visit Questions and Answers document clarifying requirements for a federal contracting project involving piping system installation and modifications.
The project scope is limited to piping, insulation, connections, and hangers only—no equipment such as pumps or tanks will be procured. Pipe material must be Aquatherm or equivalent as specified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), with stainless steel Schedule 40 socket welds and copper pipe alternatives explicitly rejected. Insulation must be standard-grade pipe insulation rated for operating temperatures between -5 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit, with insulation jackets required only for exposed sections between the chiller and building exterior. All replacement insulation must meet or exceed the specifications of existing insulation. Burn permits are administered by the Base Fire Department and will be issued upon contractor request, with additional procedural details to be provided following contract award.
