Text version

A site visit was held on August 27th at 0800 Central Time. One interested party attended and the following questions were asked.

Q: Based on information gathered at the site, is it possible to exclude the painting portion of the SOW from the contract?

A: The paint requirement will Not be removed from the SOW. The paint portion is minimal, is basic touch up as stated in paragraph 1.1.6 below. Paragraph 4.3 refers to the storage and disposal of the paint and paint removal chemicals.

1.1.6. The contractor shall perform minor corrosion control on the 35 position firing range during monthly inspections. Corrosion control shall be limited to top plate priming and touch-up paint where rust is present and lane number painting if numbering is illegible.

4.3. Corrosion Control/Paint Waste. The contractor shall set up and manage a hazardous waste accumulation point for waste paint, waste solvent and paint stripping residuals unless the waste can be turned in to hazardous waste storage facility on the same day it is generated.
When paint stripping is necessary - all chips, dust and other contaminants must be collected in a manner that prevents a release to the ground, air and water.
