1. Are we required to replace the existing 2’x2’ light fixtures with new 2’x2’ LED type throughout all sections 1-5?
a. Refer to section 3 of the Statement of Work. There is no mention of replacing the light fixtures throughout the Kitchen.
2. Are as-built drawings available?
a. There are as-builts from previous projects in this facility. These can be provided to the contract awardee.
3. What type of roof deck is presently there?
a. According to our roofing technicians, the building has a Built-up roofing system with a top layer of gravel.
4. What type of roof is on B476?
a. According to our roofing technicians, the building has a Built-up roofing system with a top layer of gravel.
5. In reference to section 5 shelves that are to be removed and reinstalled. The paint or stain applied will not be an exact match to the new cabinets in section 4, will this be acceptable?
a. Yes
6. Please provide size and type of exhaust fan to be installed in section 1.
a. Size and type of exhaust fan will not be specified by the government. Refer to section
3.5 of the Statement of Work, it states that the contractor shall install an exhaust fan that is able to exhaust the moisture/steam generated in this room that has caused water damage in the past.
7. Has testing for mold /asbestos/lead base paint been conducted? If so please provide the environmental survey reports,
a. Tests were performed on this facility for asbestos and lead based paint. The results were negative. Copies of the reports can be given to the contract awardee.
8. Who will remove any pantry items, PC and kitchen equipment (Stove, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, freezers, etc.) in section 1-5?
a. Refer to section 3 of the Statement of Work. It states that the contractor will carefully remove and put back all equipment on walls and floors.
9. Is there an existing exhaust fan in section 1? If so, what size is it and is it functional?
a. There is not an existing exhaust fan in Section 1. There are diffusers from the facilities
HVAC system but this system shall be independent from the new exhaust fan.
10. Please provide power source feeding the electrical panels in section 2 hallway.
a. This can be verified on a post-award site visit with the facilities maintainers present.
11. Can you provide locations of the nearest cleanout to the existing drain in section 1 under dishwasher area?
a. This can be verified on a post-award site visit with the facilities maintainers present.
12. Will personnel be required to sign in daily at CDC B476?
a. Yes.
13. Please provide the name of the company presently holding the roof warranty if applicable?
a. The roof is more than likely not under warranty, but our maintenance department is looking into it. This can be revisited after contract award.
14. Will an on-site storage area be provided in the building? For storing kitchen equipment during construction.
a. Maybe, it will depend on the capacity of the facility at the time of construction start.
15. Is the existing integral dishwasher exhaust system currently functioning on the dishwasher unit?
a. No.
16. Will the Government provide written verification of all equipment functionality prior to starting work?
a. Yes.
17. Will we be required to install white 4’x8’ FRP wall panels over the new “green board” in section
1 or perhaps in section 2 & 4 to protect the newly installed green board from impact and moisture damage. These panels provide optimal wall protection.
a. Refer to section 3.1 of the Statement of Work. There is no mention of installing frp wall panels over the “green board”.
18. Will we be able to work after hours, weekend, and holidays?
a. Refer to section 4.1 of the Statement of Work. The contractor may request to work outside of normal working hours.
19. Is the existing window in section 5 operable? To use as an exhaust pathway during construction.
a. Yes.
