About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the Barricade System Hydraulic Cylinder Installation federal contract opportunity (FA303025Q0025). The Q&A provides clarification on key technical details, including the scope of work involving two DSC501 control systems with a total of 8 hydraulic cylinders across inbound and outbound lanes. Each hydraulic power unit (HPU) has a tank capacity of no more than 15 gallons, with potential top-off requirements of 1-2 gallons due to a 75-foot distance between the HPU and furthest barrier. The document confirms the project involves one Inbound South Gate HPU and one Outbound South Gate HPU, with serial number tags located on the internal HPU doors and electronic cabinet door. The government has specified that the NAICS code will remain 333996 for this opportunity, maintaining the original classification for fluid power pump and motor manufacturing.

FA303025Q0025-Barricade System Hydraulic Cylinder Installation Q&A
Q: To clarify, this is the replacement of hydraulic cylinders (qty 2) for 1 (one) DSC501 barrier and a single (1) hydraulic filter in the HPU, correct? Also, what is the capacity of the hydraulic tank in the HPU and the distance from the barrier; this will determine if additional fluid is needed to meet manufacturers PM’s.
A: Two DSC501control systems, one for the two inbound lanes and one for the two outbound lanes. Each DSC501 has 4 hydraulic cylinders each, for a total of 8 hydraulic cylinders. The capacity of each DSC501 hydraulic tank is no more than 15 gallons. Each DSC501 hydraulic tank may require a top-off of 1 to 2 gallons of hydraulic fluid due to distance. We usually don’t put more than 15 gallons in the tank unless the hydraulic hoses have been replaced or completely drained. Distance from HPU to furthest barrier is around 75 feet.
Q: Are you able to provide the serial #'s off of each of the crash barriers that will require maintenance?
A: See attachments South Gate DSC501 Outbound Serial Tag and South Gate DSC501 Inbound Serial Tag. Serial # tags are on the inside of the external HPU doors; and on the electronic cabinet door inside the HPU cabinet.
Q: SOW-Barricade System Hydraulic Cylinder Installation, PART 1 – SCOPE OF WORK, Page 4, Section 1.2, please confirm that the requested scope of work includes only one (1) quantity Inbound South Gate Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) and one (1) quantity Outbound South Gate HPU; two (2) total quantity HPUs.
A: True
Q: Would the Government consider a change in NAICS Code 811210 or 561621 for this opportunity?
A: The NAICS will remain 333996 for FA303025Q0025-Barricade System Hydraulic Cylinder Installation.
