About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the B847 Replace Base Ops Generator project at Columbus Air Force Base, Solicitation #FA302225R0006. The RFI contains 21 detailed questions and answers addressing critical aspects of the generator replacement project, including project requirements, technical specifications, and logistical considerations.
Key details include the requirement to replace a 120/208V 125 kW Generator, day tank, fuel pump, and Automatic Transfer Switch, with specific stipulations such as mandatory separate supervision and QAQC roles, underground fuel piping outside the equipment yard, and coordination of generator downtime with the government. Electrical engineering requirements include certification of electrical load studies by a licensed electrical engineer, with the contractor responsible for tests per UFC 3-540-01 and manufacturer specifications. The existing generator will be salvaged and relocated within the base, and all work must be coordinated in advance, with power interruptions limited to after-hours or weekends. The project is valued between $100,000 and $250,000 and requires contractors to complete CUI training and obtain special document access.
