About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the B847 Replace Base Ops Generator project at Columbus Air Force Base, Solicitation #FA302225R0006. The RFI contains 21 detailed questions and answers addressing critical aspects of the generator replacement project, including supervision roles, electrical studies, generator relocation, and project-specific requirements. Key technical details include:
The project involves replacing a 120/208V 125 kW generator, day tank, fuel pump, and Automatic Transfer Switch at the Base Ops Facility. Contractors must follow UFC 3-540-01 and manufacturer requirements for testing, and all electrical studies must be certified by a licensed electrical engineer. The existing generator is in working order and will be salvaged and relocated on base. Critical project constraints include coordinating generator downtime with the government, performing work only during after-hours or weekends, and following specific underground fuel piping routing requirements. The estimated project value ranges between $100,000 and $250,000, with a site visit scheduled for 12 May 2025 and RFI submissions due by 15 May 2025.
