About this file

The file is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document from a site visit related to a modular building project at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. The document provides critical clarifications about the project, including specific details about site preparation, power disconnection/reconnection, materials handling, and technical specifications. Key points include: 502 TDS will handle power disconnection and reconnection, the contractor is responsible for dumpsters and material offloading, the modular building will be housed inside Hangar 74, and panels will be gray both inside and outside. The project requires completion within 90 days after award, with specific guidelines on window and door placements, with minor variances allowed (e.g., windows can be placed at 42.5 inches from the ground instead of exactly 41 inches). The Q&A also addresses technical aspects such as fire alarm notification (to be handled by 502 TDS) and confirms that no recycling of the existing building is required during demolition.

12Regarding the proposed layout for this opportunity, would the end user be open to slight variances in window or door placements while still meeting the overall design requirements?

For example: Placing windows at 42.5 inches from the ground instead of exactly 41 inches Slightly increasing the spacing between windows on the 40 ft wall (e.g., just over 42 inches apart)

We are still able to meet the intended design; however, allowing for these small adjustments could lead to significant cost savings.Placing the windows at 42.5 inches from the ground instead of 41 inches is fine. If there will be variances to the door, more information is required.
