About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a federal contract (FA301625Q0188) involving boilers removal and installation at Building 1377, JBSA – Fort Sam Houston. The Q&A covers technical specifics including a TACO 80-gallon steel expansion tank replacement, vent piping through the roof (with contractor responsible for patching), and heating hot water system details. Key requirements include using Fiber Glass with PVC lining for insulation, performing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) on necessary equipment, and following a brand-name requirement for boilers. The incumbent controls contractor is Johnson Controls, and the project does not require temporary heating or power, nor will Procore be used for submittal exchanges. The Q&A also clarifies that chemical treatment is only required for the water side of the system, and no hazardous materials are present on mechanical piping or hangers.
