1. Does the contractor have control over aircraft cleaning soap mixing and ratios?
Answer: The contractor is responsible for purchasing the soap and measuring the ratio prior to use.
2. Can you confirm that the Government will be performing all aircraft wash preparations such as kneeling, window masking, etc?
Answer: The Government will perform operations related to kneeling, opening and closing forward complexes, and removing/installing panels. The contractor will be responsible for masking the aircraft with tape and removing said tape.
3. Besides 0700 to 2000 during the week and being on call 24/7 how often does weekend flight operations happen?
Answer: Flying on the weekends is sporadic. On occasion, we will fly a cross country mission on Saturday or Sunday. If we don't meet flying schedule requirements for the training squadron, then we'll fly local flights on Saturday and/or Sunday to make up for lost time during the week.
5. Is there another site besides the Dos Rios Plant to dispose of waste?
Answer: The Government is not aware of another site to dump the waste.
6. The Government supplies the wheel covers, engine covers, pitot covers, etc... But does the contractor install these after flights for the C-5's?
Answer: The contractors are not responsible for installing/removing any covers before or after flights.
7. Are the water and air hoses at the wash rack already installed? Do we supply them and or replace them when worn?
Answer: The Government supplies the water and air hoses for the contractor. And Government will have them replaced when worn or unserviceable.
8. What type of lift for the aircraft washing (especially for the tail) is current being used? And, will the contractor have use of any military stands at their disposal? (B4 stands etc...)
Answer: Currently, a JLG Boom Lift capable of reaching heights of 65 feet is used, which is Contractor furnished. We will provide any other stands that might be required such as B-1, B-2 and B-5 stands.
Upon request, they will be delivered by our Aerospace Ground Equipment driver.
9. International waste removal. Do you expect more in these next fiscal year?
Answer: The Government can only estimate the required International waste removal as this does not occur based on a schedule.
