2.7.13A Engine Handling System. The engine handling system (P/N MA9441-20FJR) is designed to pro-vide lifting and lowering of an F138 Engine during engine removal and installation. The engine handling system consists of two 6-ton manual lever hoists, two 3-ton manual lever hoists, four dynamometers, and a reusable storage/shipping container. The engine handling system is used in combination with the bootstrap beam and saddle adapter set which attaches to the engine pylon. Two dynamometers attach to the forward bootstrap beam. The remaining two dynamometers attach to eyelets on the aft bootstrap beam cable. The two 6-ton hoists are atached to the dynamometers on the forward bootstrap beam. The two 3-ton hoists are attached to the dynamometers on the aft bootstrap beam. See TO 1C-5M-2-4JG-1-3, Chapter 2.

4. Page 3-105, Paragraph 3.14.6, Crew Lavatory Servicing of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:

3.14.6 Lavatory Servicing. (See Figure 3-34.) Crew lavatory is installed on the right side of the airplane aft of relief crew seats and forward of the galley. Troop compartment lavatory, consisting of two separate toilet units, is installed on forward right end of troop compartment (except on AF68-0213 and AF68-0216).
A service truck capable of supplying fresh water is required to fill the water storage tank behind the crew galley between FS 844 and FS 864. Both relief crew compartment and troop compartment lavatories are serviced from a service panel located at FS 815.
5. Page 3-105, Paragraph 3.14.7, Crew Lavatory Waste Servicing (AF68-0213, AF68-0216, and AF69- 0024) of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.7 Waste Tank Drain Procedure. (See Figure 3-34.) Service the lavatory waste tank as follows:
a. Open the service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
b. Open the lever lock cap of the rinse nipple (4).
c. Connect rinse water hose of a Type A/S 32A-8 truck or equivalent to the rinse nipple (4).
d. Open the waste valve (5) cover.
e. Connect the service truck waste service hose to the waste valve (5).
f. Open the internal flapper valve of the waste valve (5) using the PUSH TO OPEN lever (2) on the waste valve (5).
CAUTION
The waste tank drain valve must be open before starting the waste service truck suction pump. Failure to comply could result in damage to airplane.
NOTE
Initial pull force for drain cable handle may be up to 70 pounds during break-in period.
g. Open the waste tank drain valve by the pulling the drain cable handle (6) out from the service panel.
h. Start the waste service truck suction pump.
i. After waste tank and servicing truck waste drain line has been completely drained, stop the waste truck suction pump.
j. Rinse the waste tank by pumping water from the service truck into the rinse line for a minimum of 2 minutes.
k. Stop the flow of rinse water.
l. Start waste service truck suction pump and completely drain the service truck waste line.
CAUTION
The service truck waste suction pump must be off prior to closing ACFT waste tank drain valve. Failure to comply could result in damage to the airplane.
m. Stop the waste truck suction pump after all water has been drained from waste line.
n. Push the drain cable handle (6) fully in to close the waste tank drain valve.
CAUTION
If the airplane is inactive and is to be exposed to freezing temperatures, drain the waste tank as soon as possible after flight termination. Pre-charge waste tank immediately prior to next scheduled flight. Failure to comply could cause serious damage to tank.
o. Pre-charge the waste tank by adding 3 to 5 gallons of rinse water from the service truck.
p. Remove the rinse hose and allow all water to drain from the rinse nipple (4) and close the lever lock cap of the rinse nipple (4).
q. Disconnect the drain line from the waste valve (5).
r. Close the waste valve (5) cover.
s. Rinse the service area with a solution of nine parts water to one part MIL-PRF-87937, Type IV heavy duty cleaner solution, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.
t. Close the service panel door.
6. Page 3-105, following Paragraph 3.14.7, Crew Lavatory Waste Servicing (AF68-0213, AF68-0216, and AF69-0024) of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to add new Paragraph 3.14.7A to read as follows:
3.14.7A Waste Tank Drain and Flush Procedure. (See Figure 3-34.) Drain the lavatory waste tank as follows:
a. Open the service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
b. Open the lever lock cap of the rinse nipple (4).

3.14.8 Lavatory Water Tank Servicing. (See Figure 3-34.) Service the lavatory water tank as follows:
CAUTION
. Use only fresh water to service the lavatory water tank. Do not use water/MiraBowl Q mixture (blue water). Failure to comply could result in damage to equipment.
. If airplane is inactive and and is to be exposed to freezing temperatures, drain the water tank as soon as possible after flight termination. Fill water tank immediately prior to next scheduled flight. Failure to comply could cause serious damage to tank and lines.
NOTE
. The lavatory water tank should be serviced before each flight to ensure a sufficient quantity of water is available for flushing.
. Lavatory water tank capacity is approximately 29 gallons.
a. Ensure electrical power is connected in accordance with paragraph titled Connecting External Electrical Power.
b. Ensure COMP RLY circuit breaker on Flight Engineer Circuit Breaker Panel No. 5 is closed.
c. Open service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
d. Open the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (7).
e. Connect rinse water hose line of a Type A/S 32A-8 truck or equivalent to the fill/drain nipple (7).
f. Set the fill/drain switch (3) to the open position and hold until the VALVE OPEN light illuminates.
Release switch.
WARNING
Ensure over flow vent area is clear. Failure to comply may cause injury to personnel and/or damage to equipment.
g. Pump water from the service truck until water begins to flow out of the overflow vent (1) on the lower fuselage of the aircraft, then stop the flow of water from the service truck.
h. Once the water has stopped flowing from the overflow vent (1), set the fill/drain switch (3) to the closed position and hold until the VALVE CLOSED light illuminates. Release switch.
i. Remove the service truck rinse line, allow all residual water to drain, and close the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (7).
j. Ensure VALVE CLOSED light is illuminated. Close service panel door.
k. If electrical power is no longer required, disconnect the electrical power source from the airplane in accordance with paragraph titled Disconnecting External Electrical Power.
8. Page 3-106, Paragraph 3.14.9, Crew Lavatory Cold Weather Servicing of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.9 Water Tank Draining Procedure. (See Figure 3-34.) Drain the water tank as follows:
a. Ensure electrical power is connected in accordance with paragraph titled Connecting External Electrical Power.
b. Ensure COMP RLY circuit breaker on Flight Engineer Circuit Breaker Panel No. 5 is closed.
c. Open the service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
NOTE
If draining lavatory water tank onto ramp is undesirable due to poor runoff, freezing weather, etc., use a suitable container, approximately 29 gallons capacity, to catch water.
d. Open the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (7).
e. Set the fill/drain switch (3) to the open position and hold until the VALVE OPEN light illuminates and release switch. Allow water tank to drain.
f. When water stops draining from the fill/drain nipple (7), set the fill/drain switch (3) to the closed position and hold until the VALVE CLOSED light illuminates. Release switch.
g. Close the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (7).
h. Ensure VALVE CLOSED light is illuminated. Close service panel door.
i. If electrical power is no longer required, disconnect the electrical power source from the airplane in accordance with paragraph titled Disconnecting External Electrical Power.
9. Page 3-106, Paragraph 3.14.10, Crew Lavatory Water Fill Servicing (AF68-0213, AF68-0216, and AF69-0024) of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.10 Lavatory Toilet and Waste Tube Cleaning. (See Figure 3-34.1.) Clean the waste tank and waste lines in accordance with the following instructions. Refer to Table 3-9 for materials and equipment required for lavatory cleaning.
NOTE . Soaking allows for efficient vinegar saturation in the waste lines while also allowing the toilet bowl and flush valve disk to be soaked.
. It is very important that crushed ice is used because it will scrape away waste and mineral build-up. The ice should be crushed into approximately 1 inch pieces.
. The last three normal flushes help to clean any leftover residue.
a. Fill each toilet with approximately 1 gallon of vinegar and allow to soak for 5 minutes.
b. Momentarily press the maintenance switch (Figure 3-34.2, 1) and release on each toilet to allow the flush valve to open and release vinegar into waste tubes. Allow to soak for 15 minutes.
c. After allowing 15 minutes for the vinegar to soak in the waste tubes, fill each toilet assembly with approximately 1/2 gallon of crushed ice and 1/2 gallon of vinegar and flush each toilet assembly 3 times.
CAUTION
If freezing temperatures are expected, drain the lavatory water and waste tanks. Failure to comply could result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
Leaving the vinegar solution in the waste tank overnight will help keep the ultrasonic sensors and waste tank surfaces clean.
d. Leave the vinegar solution in the waste tank until next service. If possible, wait 12 hours before servicing the lavatory.
10. Page 3-107, following Paragraph 3.14.10, Crew Lavatory Water Fill Servicing (AF68-0213, AF68-0216, and AF69-0024) of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to add new Paragraph
3.14.10.1 to read as follows:

11. Page 3-107, Paragraph 3.14.11, Crew Lavatory Water Fill Servicing (AF83-1285 and Up) of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.11 Lavatory Water Tank Disinfection. (See Figure 3-34.) Disinfect the water tank in accordance with the following instructions. Refer to Table 3-9 for materials and equipment required for lavatory water tank disinfection.
CAUTION
Use only fresh water to service the lavatory water tank. Do not use water/ MiraBowl Q mixture (blue water). Failure to comply could result in damage to equipment.
a. Ensure electrical power is connected in accordance with paragraph titled Connecting External Electrical Power.
b. Ensure COMP RLY circuit breaker on flight engineer circuit breaker panel No. 5 is closed. (See Figure 1-21.)
c. Open service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
d. Open the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (Figure 3-34, 7).
e. Drain water tank in accordance with paragraph titled Water Tank Draining Procedure.
f. On tank cleaning adapter (Figure 3-34.1, 1) close Valve 1 (3), fill to top of tube (6) up to Valve 2 (4) with disinfection solution (Sodium Hypochlorite) and close Valve 2 (4).
g. Connect the tank cleaning adapter fill coupler (Figure 3-34.1, 5) to the fill/drain nipple (Figure 3- 34, 7).
h. Connect rinse water hose line of a Type A/S 32A-8 truck or equivalent to the tank cleaning adapter (Figure 3-34.1, 1) at the lav fill nipple (2).
i. Set the fill/drain switch (Figure 3-34, 3) to the OPEN position and hold until the VALVE OPEN light illuminates and release switch.
j. Start pumping water from truck.
WARNING
Ensure over flow vent area is clear. Failure to comply may cause injury to personnel and/or damage to equipment.
k. Open valves (Figure 3-34.1, 3 and 4) on tank cleaning adapter (Figure 3-34.1, 1) and fill water tank until water begins to flow out of overflow vent (Figure 3-34, 1) on the lower fuselage of aircraft.
l. Close Valve 1 (Figure 3-34.1, 3) on tank cleaning adapter (1).
m. Stop the flow of water from the service truck.
n. Hold the fill/drain switch (Figure 3-34, 3) to the close position until the VALVE CLOSED light illuminates and release switch.
o. Open Valve 1 (Figure 3-34.1, 3) on tank cleaning adapter (1) and allow residual water to drain into the servicing truck through rinse line.
p. Remove the service truck rinse line from the tank cleaning adapter; allow any residual water to drain.
q. Disconnect the tank cleaning adapter from the fill/drain nipple (7), and close the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple.
r. Close service panel door.
s. Allow solution to remain in the tank for 30 minutes and then flush all toilets 5 times to disinfect system plumbing.
t. Drain water tank in accordance with paragraph titled Water Tank Draining Procedure.
u. Service water tank in accordance with paragraph titled Lavatory Water Tank Servicing.
v. If electrical power is no longer required, disconnect the electrical power source from the airplane in accordance with paragraph titled Disconnecting External Electrical Power.
12. Page 3-107, Paragraph 3.14.12, Crew Lavatory Water Drain Servicing (AF68-0213, AF68-0216, and AF69-0024) of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.12 Lavatory Waste Tank Cleaning. (See Figure 3-34 and Figure 3-34.1.) Clean the waste tank in accordance with the following instructions. Refer to Table 3-9 for materials and equipment required for lavatory waste tank cleaning.
CAUTION
. Use only fresh water to service the lavatory waste tank. Do not use water/MiraBowl Q mixture (blue water). Failure to comply could result in damage to equipment.
. Drain the waste tank if freezing temperatures are expected. Failure to comply could result in damage to equipment.
. Ensure waste tank is drained before performing Lavatory Waste Tank Cleaning. Failure to comply could result in damage to equipment.
a. Open service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
b. Drain the lavatory waste tank in accordance with paragraph titled Waste Tank Drain Procedure.
c. Open the lever lock cap of the rinse nipple (Figure 3-34, 4).
d. Connect the rinse water hose line of a Type A/S 32A-8 truck or equivalent to the truck and fill lavatory waste tank with 20 gallons of water and disconnect servicing truck.
e. On tank cleaning adapter (Figure 3-34.1, 1) close Valve 1 (3), fill tube (6) with mild soap and close Valve 2 (4).
f. Connect the tank cleaning adapter fill coupler (Figure 3-34.1, 5) to the rinse nipple (Figure 3-34, 4).
g. Connect rinse water hose line of a Type A/S 32A-8 truck or equivalent to the tank cleaning adapter (Figure 3-34.1, 1) at lav fill nipple (2).
h. Start pumping water from service truck.
i. Open valves (Figure 3-34.1, 3 and 4) on tank cleaning adapter (Figure 3-34.1, 1) and add 10 gallons of water.
j. Close Valve 1 (3) on tank cleaning adapter (1).
k. Stop the flow of water from the service truck and remove service truck rinse hose line.
l. Open Valve 1 (Figure 3-34.1, 3) on tank cleaning adapter (1) and allow residual water to drain.
m. Disconnect the tank cleaning adapter (Figure 3-34.1, 1) from the rinse nipple (Figure 3-34, 4), and close the lever lock cap of the rinse nipple (4).
n. Close service panel door.
o. Allow solution to remain in the waste tank for 24 hours.
p. Drain waste tank in accordance with paragraph titled Waste Tank Drain Procedure.
