About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document providing clarifications to bidders on the Dorma Kaba Locks installation RFQ (FA286026Q0023) for Building 1690 at Joint Base Andrews. The Government confirmed that 152 total locks (76 right-hand and 76 left-hand) are required, with 127 to be installed and 25 stored as spares for future replacements due to historical lock failures. New cylinders and cores will be provided by the contractor to work specifically with the Dormakaba RT Plus locks, replacing the existing MT magstripe locks currently in place. The contractor must obtain and reuse access to the existing Dormakaba Community and Ambiance software databases with administrator-level permissions to configure and program new locks, with technical support available from Dormakaba during commissioning.
The contractor is responsible for delivering all installation labor, equipment, supplies, materials, and transportation, along with onsite training to dorm management personnel covering lockset installation, manual programming, and operation procedures. All spare locks, trim plates, privacy kits, cylinders, keys, and other components must be turned over to the JB Andrews Dorm Management Office upon project completion. The Government will provide a floor plan, storage space at an adjacent dormitory, and access to Windows 11 computers required for the Dormakaba Community Plus software. The contractor must coordinate with Dormakaba for remote technical support during software configuration and commissioning phases.
