About this file
This document is a Questions and Responses file for an IT Equipment solicitation by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center. The Q&A provides technical details about an audiovisual installation, including room specifications such as an 8' 11" ceiling height with Armstrong Ceiling Tiles, a video wall configuration (currently 19.67 ft wide x 5.54 ft high with 1.2mm pixel pitch), and installation requirements. Key technical details include power provisions (3 outlets with 6 plug options for the video wall), cable management expectations (all cables must be hidden), and confirmation that the government will provide a dedicated PC for the room. The responses also address camera placement, with a preference for automated focusing on the speaking individual during formal meetings, and clarify that the contractor will not need to provide additional electrical circuits for the video wall.

Questions received and response
What is the ceiling height? 8’ ft 11 inches What type of ceiling is in the space? ACT (Armstrong Ceiling Tiles) Grid/Ceiling tiles.
Who is providing power for video wall and new equipment rack? The video wall has been prewired with 3 outlet = 6 plug options for video wall and there is a power outlet located where the equipment rack will live.
Is there a specific height required for the camera? Normally we would go with recommendation from vendor as long as the camera is not impeded by furniture and it captures the speaker that will reside at the front of the room.
Are cable paths defined and require conduit? Cables and wires should not be visible. We expect a professional clean install where all cables are properly hidden out of sight (ran through walls etc.).
Will there be an operator for the camera? Or an AV person running formal meetings? There is always a person running formal meetings. We assume the camera would be automated and would focus on the individual that is speaking.
Can the video wall be 5’ tall? We actually looked at increasing the video wall height to 5 feet but learned it would involve increasing pixel pitch (they are at 1.2mm now) to a 1.5mm pitch. The increase will call for an increase in the width (19.67 ft wide x 5.54ft. high). Most importantly, the bottom of the video wall will go below the recommended 48” above finished floor to about 36”. Doing this will increase the chances of the video wall getting broken.
Will the government provide their own dedicated PC or Teams device for the room?
The Government will provide a dedicated PC.
Should the contractor provide electrical for the video wall if more circuits are needed? No
