About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for federal contract opportunity FA255026Q0040, detailing requirements for three CLINs of standard rack-mount fiber distribution panels.
CLIN 0011 specifies a 1U (1.75-inch height) fiber distribution panel that must fit standard 19-inch electronic equipment racks with a sliding tray enclosure style featuring a transparent or removable top cover. The unit must be constructed from minimum 16-gauge cold-rolled steel with powder-coat finish and support a minimum of four LC-compatible adapter panels with capacity for up to 48 fiber connections using LC-Duplex adapters. Requirements include built-in internal radius-limiting spooling rings for cable management, rear cable entry grommets, strain-relief brackets, and accommodation for an internal stackable fusion splice tray supporting up to 24 splices. CLIN 0012 specifies a 2U (3.5-inch height) panel with front and rear doors featuring integrated security locks or latch mechanisms and modular sliding, removable trays. Constructed of heavy-duty steel or aluminum, it must support a minimum of eight LC-compatible adapter panels, MTP/MPO cassettes, or splice modules with capacity for up to 96 fiber connections. The unit must include integrated front patch cord management brackets, oversized rear trunk cable entry points with strain-relief clamp kits, and maintain a minimum 1.5-inch bend radius control throughout internal routing. CLIN 0013 specifies a 4U (7.0-inch height) panel with similar security and modular features to the 2U unit but supporting a minimum of twelve adapter panels or cassettes with capacity for up to 144 fiber connections at 12 ports per adapter panel, while maintaining the same 1.5-inch bend radius protection requirements.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
CLINS 0011 - 0013
0011: Standard Rack-Mount Fiber Distribution Panel (1U)
• Mounting Standard: Must fit a standard 19-inch electronic equipment rack.
• Physical Profile (Height): Must not exceed 1 Rack Unit (1U / 1.75 inches) in height to conserve vertical rack space.
• Enclosure Style: Sliding tray style with a transparent or removable top cover to allow easy technician access to internal fibers without unmounting the unit.
• Material Integrity: Constructed of heavy-duty cold-rolled steel (minimum 16-gauge) with a powder-coat finish for durability.
• Adapter Capacity: Must support a minimum of four (4) standard LC-compatible adapter panels.
• Port Density & Connectors: Must support up to 48 fiber connections using LC- Duplex adapters.
• Cable Management: Built-in internal radius-limiting spooling rings to prevent fiber bending loss, along with rear cable entry grommets and strain-relief brackets.
• Splice Integration: Accommodates an internal, stackable fusion splice tray for up to 24 splices.
0012: Standard Rack-Mount Fiber Distribution Panel (2U)
• Physical Profile (Height): Must not exceed 2 Rack Units (2U / 3.5 inches) in height.
• Enclosure Style: Front and rear doors with integrated security locks (or latch mechanisms) to protect critical optical connections. Must feature sliding, removable individual trays for modular maintenance.
• Material Integrity: Constructed of heavy-duty steel or aluminum, designed to support heavy cabling loads without sagging.
• Adapter Capacity: Must support a minimum of eight (8) standard LC-compatible adapter panels, MTP/MPO cassettes, or splice modules.
• Port Density & Connectors: Must support up to 96 fiber connections using LC- Duplex adapters.
• Cable Routing: Features integrated front patch cord management brackets and oversized rear trunk cable entry points with strain-relief clamp kits.
• Bend Radius Protection: Must maintain a minimum of 1.5-inch bend radius control throughout all internal routing paths to protect signal integrity.
0013: Standard Rack-Mount Fiber Distribution Panel (4U)
• Physical Profile (Height): Must not exceed 4 Rack Units (4U / 7.0 inches) in height.
• Adapter Capacity: Must support a minimum of twelve (12) standard LC-compatible adapter panels, MTP/MPO cassettes, or splice modules.
• Port Density & Connectors: Must support up to 144 fiber connections using LC- Duplex adapters, 12 ports per adapter panel.
• Cable Routing: Features integrated front patch cord management brackets and oversized rear trunk cable entry points with strain-relief clamp kits.
• Bend Radius Protection: Must maintain a minimum of 1.5-inch bend radius control throughout all internal routing paths to protect signal integrity.
