About this file

This file is a Request for Information (RFI) response document that clarifies government preferences and requirements for a Solid State Disintegrator acquisition. The government indicates a preference for a mobile disintegrator unit but will accept a stationary option if a mobile solution is unavailable. Regarding capability scope, the primary requirement is an SSD disintegrator capable of reducing particles to 2mm or less, with hard disk drive (HDD) shredding capability considered a valuable secondary feature if available on the same unit.

This RFI response is associated with solicitation FA255026Q0031, a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the Department of the Air Force Space Command for acquisition of services at Schriever Space Force Base. The requirement is designated as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The quote submission deadline is Wednesday, 12 August 2026, 9:00 AM MT, with a preferred delivery timeline of 30 days or less. Offerors must submit questions in writing by Thursday, 6 August 2026, 9:00 AM MT to the Contracting Officer (Kaitlyn Guldan) and Contracting Specialist (Richard Barrera) for written responses to be included in solicitation amendments. Offerors are required to identify any assumptions or exceptions to government requirements in their proposals, noting that such exceptions may negatively impact evaluation.

Preference on Stationary or Mobile Disintegrator?Preference mobile but stationary is acceptable if mobile option does not exist
Only looking for SSD shred option or also the Hard Disk Drive shred capability?SSD disintegrator is the primary purpose and capability that reduces particles to 2mm or less. If an SSD disintegrator that can take particles to 2mm or less is available that can also shred HDD, it would be considered.
