About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement and installation of one Solid State Disintegrator meeting National Security Agency (NSA)/Central Security Service (CSS) requirements for sanitization of classified solid state storage devices.
The disintegrator must meet specific essential salient characteristics including simple push-button operation, automatic overload sensing with jam prevention, automatic bin-full sensor, and easily replaceable destruction blades, grinders, and screens. Acoustic output must not exceed 85dB, and the device must incorporate a self-contained 3-stage air filtration system (pre, carbon, and HEPA filters). The device requires a main power switch accepting a Lockout/Tagout lock in the OFF position and an emergency safety button. Physical specifications limit the footprint to 32"W x 45"D x 52"H with a maximum weight of 1,300 lbs and mandatory castor wheels. The device must operate on 200-240V, 1 Phase, 50/60 Hz, 6a (three-phase is prohibited due to power constraints). The disintegrator must be manufactured in the United States per Executive Order 14005 and must shred whole Solid State Drives inside desktop computers and laptops without dismantling, as well as card storage devices including SIM Cards, EMV Cards, Credit Cards, and magnetic strip cards. The contractor is responsible for installation and ensuring full functionality, and must provide twelve disposable disintegrator bags, one extra set of castor wheels or feet, and necessary cleaning tools for device maintenance.
