About this file
This document is an Environmental Sampling Report prepared by Sunrise Systems of Brevard, Inc. for a project at Patrick Space Force Station, specifically focusing on Building 1319's Emergency Power Repair. The report details environmental testing conducted on the interior coating of Room 104's CMU wall and the transformer pad, which included RCRA-8 metals and PCB testing, as well as asbestos sampling.
Key findings from the laboratory analysis include the presence of extremely low levels of Barium in the wall coating, with no PCBs or asbestos detected in the samples. The report emphasizes that any disturbance of the coatings must comply with OSHA regulations regarding Permissible Exposure Limits, including appropriate worker training and personal protective equipment. The samples were analyzed by Schneider Laboratories in Virginia, with the testing completed on December 20-21, 2023, as part of the environmental assessment for the facility's upcoming emergency power repair project.

Sunrise Systems of Brevard, Inc was contracted by Rhodes + Brito Architects to perform environmental sampling of the interior coating in Rm 104 and the Transformer pad at Bldg 1319 at Patrick Space Force Station, FL
The scope of this sampling included RCRA-8 metals and PCB testing of the interior coating on the CMU wall in Rm 104, and asbestos samples of the CMU wall and transformer pad. This is not a full building survey, but a targeted sampling of material identified to us by Rhodes and Brito.
RCRA-8 Metals
The sample was sent to Schneider Labs in Virginia for analysis. The coatings were sampled for total metals.
Total Metals analysis showed the presence of Barium in the coating of the CMU wall in Rm
104. Levels were extremely low (see attached results). As OSHA requires worker protection from exposure regardless of levels in the coating should disturbance occur, disturbance of the coatings must be done in accordance with OSHA regulations regarding Permissible Exposure Limits, and any other applicable federal, state, or local rules and regulations. “Disturbance” is considered to be cutting (with a rotating blade), grinding, sanding or abrading the material in question. Workers must have the appropriate training and wear appropriate ppe.
PCBs
Samples of the coatings on the wall were sent to Schneider Labs in Virginia for analysis. The coatings were sampled for PCB content. No PCBs were detected in the coatings.
ASBESTOS
Samples were taken from the exterior slab and CMU wall. Samples were sent to Schneider Labs in Virginia for analysis. No asbestos was detected in any of the sampled material.
In addition, no other items were readily identifiable as potentially asbestos-containing material inside the facility.
All sample results are attached at the end of this narrative.
Respectfully, Robert Crowe Sunrise systems of Brevard, Inc.
