Questions and Answers Posted 2 Dec 15
RFP Section: SOW 5.2 Paragraph: Page 25 - 27
SOW Paragraph: Contractor Furnished Property
Other:
Question: After reviewing the inventory of Government Furnished Property are we correct in assuming that materials like hose, nozzles, hand tools, ground ladders, pike poles, SCBA’s and other important equipment carried on the fire trucks belongs to the government but is maintained, repaired and replaced by the contractor but still the property of the Air Force. If this is the case it would help if we could receive an inventory of the equipment managed, repaired and replaced by the contractor so we can cost the proposal with greater accuracy and assure the Air Force that all fire apparatus has the required equipment to meet NFPA and Air Force requirements.
Answer: Your assumption of Government Furnished Property (GFP) is correct as it relates to items on the fire trucks. All equipment items on the fire trucks are provided/required IAW NFPA 1901. The Government doesn’t maintain a copy of vehicle equipment that is maintained, repaired or replaced by the contractor.
