Questions and Answers
1. A vendor has requested analytical test results for the oil/water separators (OWS) to verify disposal compliance with their disposal facility. Specifically, they need:
• Latest composite and analytical test results for OWS waste
• Waste classification (hazardous/non-hazardous)
• Any waste profile documentation or prior disposal facility approvals
Could you please provide these documents or advise on how to obtain them? This information is crucial to ensure proper waste handling and disposal per regulatory requirements.
PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE RESPONSE:
1. Attached is Petersons latest composite and analytical test results that was completed in September 2023 and the next one is due by September 2026.
2. I believe our grease trap/OWS waste is deemed as non-hazardous but still need to make sure its disposed of in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local environmental regulations.
3. Our current contractor operates a wastewater treatment facility located at our location (2239 Commercial Blvd.) Permit #084, monitored and regulated by Colorado Springs Utilities. The domestic (septic/grease) wastes are managed and treated at our facility, then the residual water is released to Colorado Springs Utilities for final treatment. We capture the solids from the waste through a flocculation process utilizing 500 & 700-micron (30 cubic-yard) filter boxes, dewatered prior to the manifested (cake) material being transported off-site for final disposal at Midway Landfill, south of Colorado Springs. The OWS material is also managed at our facility following the pumping process. The waste is trans-ported to our site, then released and dewatered in large drying beds. The manifested, dried sand/grit material is then reloaded in a lined Roll-Off box and transported to Midway Landfill for final disposal.
CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN SPACE FORCE STATION RESPONSE:
1. I attached the composite and analytical test results that were completed for Bldg. 300 & 302 expired 11/23/2025, Pit 319 expires 03/18/2025 and Pit 52 expired on 05/06/2027.
2. The work classification for all our grease traps, sediment taps and OWS are Non-Hazardous.
3. Our contractor disposes of the waste to the Waste Management Midway Landfill. Profile #
123735CO, 121529CO and 127139CO.
2. I have a contractor that would like a site visit for this location. Are you conducting site visits this week sir?
RESPONSE: The government will be holding a site visit on 18 March 2025 at 0830 MT. Please see the Amended Solicitation for more details.
