About this file
This is a Non-Hazardous WAM (Waste Management) Approval document and associated laboratory analysis certificates for sludge waste from Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station. The approval was issued to Midway Landfill with profile number 121529GO, valid until March 18, 2025, for direct landfill management of the waste. The generator conditions specify that waste cannot contain free liquids, must have accompanying waste manifest/shipping documents, and the waste profile number must appear on shipping papers.
The laboratory analysis certificates from Technology Laboratory, Inc. show testing of soil samples from Pit 319 (CMAFS) conducted in July-August 2021. The analysis included TCLP testing for various compounds including benzene, chloroform, metals (arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, selenium, silver), and other parameters. All tested compounds were below their respective detection limits, with QA/QC surrogate recoveries within acceptable ranges. The waste was approved under WML Procedure 005 de minimis quantities criteria (<10%, <500 tons), Option 1.
