About this file

This file is a comprehensive Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Master Specification document for expanding the B330 parking lot at a VA medical facility. The project involves constructing a 93,200 square foot gravel parking lot with 320 spaces, requiring site preparation, grading, gravel installation, and parking block placement. The specifications cover detailed requirements for site survey, earthwork, demolition, temporary environmental controls, construction waste management, and safety protocols.

Key technical specifications include using approved granular fill materials, compacting subgrade to specific densities, implementing erosion control measures, and following strict safety and environmental guidelines. The contractor must adhere to VA construction standards, OSHA safety requirements, and local regulations. The project involves multiple construction phases, including site clearing, excavation, utility management, and final grading and restoration. Specific attention is given to proper material selection, compaction techniques, waste management, and maintaining a safe work environment throughout the construction process.
