About this file
This document is an exhibit to the Janitorial Scope of Work established by the Arizona Department of Child Safety (AZDCS) Office of Real Estate, specifically addressing asbestos safety guidelines and compliance requirements for janitorial services contractors working in state facilities. The exhibit outlines mandatory safety protocols and training requirements for all contracted vendors performing janitorial services in AZDCS buildings that contain Asbestos Containing Building Materials (ACBM). Contractors must ensure compliance with OSHA regulations 29 CFR 1910.1001 and 29 CFR 1926.1101, and all employees and subcontractors assigned to work locations containing ACBM must complete a mandatory Two-Hour Asbestos Awareness Training as specified in 40 CFR Part 763.92. Certificates of Completion documenting this training for each employee must be provided to AZDCS Risk Management within sixty days of contract award.
The document further requires contractors to acknowledge receipt of asbestos-related information and training requirements at the time of contract award through a signed acknowledgment. Contractors must immediately report any disturbance of ACBM to the Building Liaison during the normal course of work and must instruct personnel not to attempt cleanup of disturbed materials. If the asbestos awareness training curriculum is updated, contractors must provide a copy of the new curriculum to AZDCS Risk Management within thirty days of the change. No pricing, incumbency, or other financial terms are addressed in this exhibit, which functions solely as a safety and regulatory compliance document for the janitorial services procurement.
