About this file

Exhibit E - Scope of Work is a document from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) detailing requirements for LiDAR Mobile Mapping System Data Processing and Quality Control. The scope of work involves importing, processing, and managing raw data from the Riegl VMX-2HA Mobile Mapping System, which includes LiDAR data, MMS imagery, and Ladybug panoramic imagery. The primary objectives are to analyze, visualize, align, and adjust datasets for optimal accuracy, deliver georeferenced outputs, and perform comprehensive quality assurance.

The project requires precise data management, including seamless data import, dataset organization, visualization, alignment using control points, and data adjustment to ensure spatial consistency. Specific deliverables include georeferenced .LAZ files compatible with version 1.4, JPG outputs with world files (.iprj, .csv), and detailed QA/QC reports documenting accuracy metrics, validation methods, and any observed deviations. The scope emphasizes maintaining data integrity, enhancing geospatial accuracy, and generating comprehensive documentation throughout the data processing workflow.

Exhibit E – Scope of Work

LiDAR - Mobile Mapping System Data Processing and Quality Control

1. Introduction

This process involves the import, processing, and management of raw data obtained from the Riegl VMX-2HA Mobile Mapping System, including LiDAR data, MMS imagery, and Ladybug panoramic imagery. The aim is to analyze, visualize, align, and adjust datasets for optimal accuracy and deliver georeferenced outputs, while performing quality assurance and generating comprehensive reports.

2. Objectives

Data Import: Seamlessly import raw LiDAR and Ladybug panoramic imagery from the Riegl VMX-2HA system.

Data Management: E ectively manage, process, and preserve data integrity throughout all stages.

Alignment and Control: Orient datasets to control points, integrate additional control as needed, and refine spatial accuracy.

Georeferenced Outputs: Generate .LAZ, JPG, and corresponding world files (e.g., .iprj, .csv) that meet specified standards.

Quality Assurance: Conduct QA/QC functions and provide detailed accuracy reports based on alignment with the control network.

3. Detailed Scope of Work

3.1. Data Import

Import raw LiDAR datasets and Ladybug panoramic imagery directly from the Riegl VMX-2HA system.

Ensure all imported data maintains its original structure and format, without duplication.

3.2. Data Management and Analysis

Organize and manage datasets to facilitate e icient analysis and processing.

Analyze imported datasets to identify and address gaps or discrepancies in alignment and control.

3.3. Visualization and Alignment

Visualize LiDAR and imagery data for review and verification purposes.

Orient datasets using system calibration files and control points, including the integration of additional control data to enhance geospatial accuracy.

3.4. Data Adjustment

Refine and adjust data to align with the control network, ensuring spatial consistency and accuracy.

3.5. Deliverable Generation

Produce georeferenced .LAZ files (ensuring compatibility with version 1.4 and backward compatibility).

Generate corresponding JPG imagery with appropriate world files, including formats such as .iprj and .csv for precise referencing.

3.6. Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

Implement QA/QC measures to assess data accuracy and ensure alignment with the control network.

Generate comprehensive QA/QC reports, detailing accuracy metrics, validation methods, and any observed deviations.

4. Deliverables

1. Georeferenced .LAZ Files: Compatible with version 1.4 and backward-compatible formats.

2. JPG Outputs: Accompanied by world files (e.g., .iprj, .csv) for spatial referencing.

3. QA/QC Reports: Documenting accuracy, alignment metrics, and control network validations.
