About this file

This Scope of Services document outlines the design-build requirements for the City of Raleigh's natural surface mountain bike trail project at Forest Ridge Park in North Carolina. The City seeks qualified design-build teams to provide comprehensive design and construction services for mountain bike trails on the park property. The scope encompasses site analysis, trail design using natural surface construction methods, environmental compliance, permitting coordination, and full construction implementation. The project requires contractors to demonstrate experience with sustainable trail design, proper drainage systems, and adherence to international mountain bike trail standards. Specific deliverables include detailed design plans, construction drawings, environmental impact assessments, and a constructed facility ready for public use. The design-build format allows for integrated project delivery with concurrent design and construction phases to streamline the overall timeline.

The document emphasizes quality standards for trail construction, including proper grading, drainage features, and sustainable design practices to ensure trail longevity and minimal environmental impact. Contractors must coordinate with City of Raleigh staff throughout the project and obtain all necessary permits and approvals. The scope specifies that the design-build team assumes responsibility for both design quality and construction performance, with clearly defined performance standards and inspection requirements. The project represents the City's commitment to enhancing recreational amenities at Forest Ridge Park while maintaining environmental stewardship and creating a sustainable asset for the community.
