About this file
This document is a Specification Sheet for an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) procurement by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The specification details the requirements for a drone system, including comprehensive technical specifications for the aircraft, its controller, thermal camera, and associated software. The UAS must have specific capabilities such as a start time under one minute, dimensions between 31" x 25" x 5" when unfolded, weight under five pounds, 35-minute minimum flight time, and ability to operate in tough weather conditions. The starter kit must include the UAS, three batteries, charging cables, thermal infrared camera, carrying case, and controller.
The specification mandates that all UAS hardware, accessories, software, and updates must be manufactured and developed in the United States. The procurement includes extensive training requirements, including a virtual onboarding course for two participants and a 4-day Tactical UAS Instructor course specific to law enforcement. Technical assistance will be provided through a help desk available 7 days per week from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The system must have advanced software capabilities, including 2D and 3D mapping without GPS or internet, onboard modeling, planar scanning, and the ability to generate complex 3D flight plans. The extended warranty will be effective for the period of performance as identified in Section B of the agreement.
