About this file
The document is a bilingual (English and Spanish) recycling guide produced by Washington County, Oregon's Solid Waste & Recycling program, designed to provide residents with comprehensive instructions on proper recycling, garbage, yard debris, and glass disposal. The guide covers detailed categories of recyclable and non-recyclable materials, including paper and cardboard, metal, plastic, yard debris, and glass, with specific guidelines for each waste type and clear instructions on what items should and should not be placed in different bins.
The recycling guide serves as an educational tool for residents in Washington County, including the cities of Beaverton, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, and other surrounding municipalities. It offers a color-coded, visual approach to waste sorting, with a dedicated website (WashingtonCountyRecycles.com) and contact number (503-846-3605) for residents to obtain additional information about recycling and proper disposal of items not covered in the standard waste streams. The guide also includes a bilingual "Top 5 things to keep out of your recycling bin" section and provides specific notes for residents in certain cities about potential additional waste management options, such as including food scraps with yard debris.
