About this file
This document is a detailed Attachment D specification for an Ultrasonic Weather Sensor solicitation issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), with solicitation number 582-25-08654. The specification outlines requirements for a sophisticated ultrasonic weather sensor that uses solid-state technology to measure wind speed, wind direction, ambient temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure, with a built-in compass for automatic magnetic north alignment. The sensor must be configured for Serial Digital Interface (SDI12) output, include a 15-meter communication cable, mounting kit, and have specific performance characteristics such as an operating wind speed range of 0-75 meters/second, temperature range of -40°C to +60°C, and humidity range of 0-100%.
The solicitation requires all items to be new and of current production, with a minimum one-year warranty covering onsite service, parts, and labor. Technical support must be available during standard business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday) via telephone and email. Upon delivery, TCEQ will test the equipment within 45 days, with payment to be made within 30 days after successful testing or invoice receipt, whichever is later. The sensor must also meet EPA sampling method requirements and include a comprehensive electronic manual with operating instructions, circuit descriptions, maintenance guidelines, and safety precautions.

Attachment D Specifications for an Ultrasonic Weather Sensor
Description: The Ultrasonic Weather Sensor will use ultrasonic technology to measure wind speed and wind direction, be of solid-state construction and have no moving parts. It will also be configured to measure ambient temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure. In addition, it will have a built-in compass to automatically align to magnetic north.
MINIMUM GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Ultrasonic Weather Sensor system must meet the following requirements.
A. The system must measure the following parameters:
i. Wind speed in miles per hour (mph)
ii. Wind direction in degrees
iii. Ambient temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (°F)
iv. Relative humidity,
v. Barometric pressure in hectopascal (hPa), B. The system must be configured for Serial Digital Interface at 1200 baud (SDI12) output.
C. The system must contain an internal compass for automatic direction alignment to magnetic north and a user option to enter a declination to correct to true north.
D. The system must have an Environmental Protection Agency Parameter Code and Method Code listed in EPA Sampling Methods for Meteorological Parameters, AQS Reference Table, and be listed in the table.

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. All items must be bid new, of current production, and include the manufacturer’s standard parts and accessories.
2. The warranty period should consist of complete coverage of system onsite, parts, and labor for a minimum of one year from the date of acceptance.
3. A minimum of one (1) electronic manual must be included. The manual will include complete operating instructions, circuit descriptions, theory of operation, location of controls and switches, software commands, maintenance, and service instructions. The manual will also include schematic diagrams, pneumatic flow charts, lists of commonly replaced parts, warnings, and safety precautions.
4. Technical support must be available for TCEQ staff between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) during regular business days, Monday through Friday, by telephone and electronic mail (e-mail).
5. Systems ordered and received by TCEQ will be tested upon receipt.
