About this file
This document is a question and answer addendum issued by the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) in relation to RFCSP769-25-992ER, a request for competitive sealed proposals for general construction services to build an Executive Office Suite on the 3rd floor of the Gibson Library. The project scope is approximately 2,780 square feet and must be completed between January 6, 2025, and April 16, 2025, with substantial completion by May 1, 2025. The addendum provides clarification on questions related to matching existing wood door veneers and the thickness of glazing for office spaces.
The contract opportunity is located in Tarrant County and the City of Fort Worth, Texas. Proposals are due on October 10, 2024, and no further site visits will be scheduled. The successful general contractor will be required to coordinate construction efforts with the general contractor for ongoing renovation work in the greater library.

DATE: October 4, 2024
TO: Potential Respondents
FROM: Elaine Robbins – Construction Contract Expeditor II
SUBJECT: Questions #2
RFCSP769-25-992ER
UNTHSC Gibson Library 3rd Fl Provost Suite
This document is being issued to answer questions that have been submitted as follows:
1) Question #17 which was in Questions #1 posted on October 1, 2024 regarding doors
– see initial question with answer below:
“17) The project calls for wood veneer doors but the project manual states to “match existing”. Can the existing door finish scheduled be provided so we can provide an accurate quote to match existing?
ANSWER: We do not know the existing wood door veneer species, this will have to be field verified by the appropriate sub to confirm.”
There was an inquiry submitted indicating that with minimal information that had been given, pricing could be drastically affected with the pertinent details.
Given that proposals are due next week on October 10, 2024, and no other site visits will be scheduled, I was able to get photos of the door and the hardware that I hope will help with subs trying to provide pricing.
See photo attachments.
2) Another question came in stating that glazing contractors were asking a question concerning the thickness of the glass at the offices. They had found that there was some confusion as to whether they should be quoting ½ inch or 1 inch glass between specifications and the details.
ANSWER: Contractors can use ½” (half inch) for your pricing.
