About this file

This is a Vehicle Installation & Service Manual prepared for the Pennsylvania Game Commission Bureau of Law Enforcement (BLE) detailing comprehensive specifications for Warden/Supervisor vehicle upfits. The manual provides step-by-step installation procedures for law enforcement equipment including communications systems, lighting arrays, surveillance capabilities, and security components in patrol vehicles. The document covers twelve major installation sections: pre-installation vehicle inspection and preparation; interior installation of vehicle body module (BCM) wiring for lighting and surveillance systems; exterior antenna mounting on vehicle roofs; front-end electrical connections and firewall penetrations; rear installation procedures for bumper lights and equipment mounting; custom equipment box assembly and wiring; center console configuration with radio controls and computer docking stations; comprehensive wire color coding reference guide; gun rack installation and securing; prisoner cage partition installation; light and siren placement specifications; and post-installation quality assurance and operational testing. The manual specifies exact wire gauges, lengths, amperage ratings, connector types, and hardware specifications for all components, with particular emphasis on moisture prevention through sealed grommets and duct sealant application.

The installation procedures accommodate various vehicle platforms including Chevrolet 1500 pickups and trucks equipped with aftermarket caps such as DiamondBack or LEER models. Equipment configurations include Motorola radio systems (APX8500 control heads), GPS units, CAD antennas, body cameras with remote activation capabilities, siren and lighting control systems (Pathfinder controllers), Rumbler speakers, and prisoner restraint systems. All wiring connections interface through a centralized equipment box mounted beneath rear seating with dedicated fuse panels maintaining individual circuit protection. The manual emphasizes proper grounding techniques using stainless steel hardware with locking washers on vehicle body pillars and specifies silicone sealant application on battery and ignition studs to prevent electrical arcing. Post-installation procedures require comprehensive operational testing of all lighting systems, radio functionality with wattage and signal strength verification, firearm rack security mechanisms, and body camera power confirmation prior to vehicle release.
