About this file

This is a Temporary Snow Pile Map document for the Iowa Department of Transportation's Ames Complex facility, detailing snow removal and storage procedures for the campus grounds. The document specifies that snow pile removal occurs within 24 hours following a snow event, with temporary snow piles identified on the map by triangles or stars indicating designated storage locations. A critical operational constraint is noted for Building 5, which houses the Driver's License Station and experiences high public activity from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., requiring that no snow be piled in the vicinity of this building. The south lot has been designated as the primary location where snow is redirected following storm cleanup operations.

This map document serves as a supporting exhibit for the State of Iowa's Department of Transportation's solicitation for lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal services at its Ames and Ankeny campuses. Prospective contractors must understand and comply with these snow management procedures as part of their bid response, with particular attention to the timing requirements and designated snow storage areas outlined in this facility-specific guidance document.
