Each of the three floors in the main building is served by a multi-zone air handler (Trane #SAMZ304A, five zones, 7-1/2 HP fan motor). The basement unit is 100% outdoor air and the other two are equipped with an economizer mode. The source of the cooling is a reciprocating compressor (#2F5D68) packaged in each air handler and an associated condenser unit (Trane #CA-3008) on the roof. Comments: 480/227V service is brought from an underground transformer vault, just east of the building's southeast corner, to a two-section switchboard with 1200A main switch fused at 1200A. Dry-type transformers within the building provide 120/208V, 3-phase, 4-wire service. The building has an 85 kW Onan natural gas generator, installed in 1994, complete with both standby and life safety transfer switches, for critical control power and life safety loads. Most lighting is 277V.
FIRE ALARM
Comments: The fire alarm panel is an FCI model. This panel reports to the fire alarm central annunciator panel in Security Building 10.
Comments: The building is connected to the center LAN system (VoIP network) for both telephone and data communications. Locally annunciating door alarms are utilized for unauthorized egress. The auditorium has a video and sound room.

A heating only air handling unit (Trane #CCDA143L06, 7-1/2 HP fan motor) located in the mechanical room serves the classroom and shop areas. There are four hot water Trane heating and ventilating ceiling-hung units serving the separate needs in the shop areas. The source of the heat for all heating units in the building is a hot water boiler (Burnham #4FW.563A3.50.LB, 3769 MBH output) located in the mechanical room. Two pumps circulate water to the heating units.
Offices and classrooms have through-wall heat pumps that use shop area air as evaporator air to absorb heat from the shop.
A heating only air handling unit (Trane #LAL7-B) located in the mechanical room serves the gymnasium.
There are three ceiling-hung hot water unit heaters serving as spot heaters.
