About this file
This is a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Zero Tolerance Policy document issued by the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) that applies to all volunteers and contractors working with the agency. The policy establishes NDOC's compliance with federal standards under 42 U.S.C. 15601 et seq. and 28 C.F.R. 115.32, mandating that all contractors and volunteers be informed of the agency's zero tolerance stance regarding any form of sexual misconduct. The policy prohibits staff, contractors, and volunteers from engaging in sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual abusive contact, or consensual sexual contact involving inmates, as well as inmate-on-inmate sexual misconduct. Violations may result in disciplinary action, removal from the project, and potential criminal prosecution.
The document requires contractors and volunteers to acknowledge their understanding of the zero tolerance policy through a signed acknowledgment form. Reporting mechanisms are provided through multiple channels: the NDOC PREA Hotline at 775-887-3152, email at prea@doc.nv.gov, mail to the Office of the Inspector General at P.O. Box 7011, Carson City, Nevada 89702, and the agency website at www.doc.nv.gov. All contractors bidding on NDOC projects, including the Northern Nevada Correctional Center Gym Floor Refurbishment opportunity, must complete and sign this acknowledgment form as a requirement of contract engagement.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand that NDOC has a “Zero Tolerance” policy. I was provided the opportunity to ask questions and failure to abide by NDOC policy could result in removal as a volunteer or contractor and possible criminal charges.
