About this file
This file comprises detailed responses to a bidding questionnaire submitted by the County of Greenville, South Carolina, regarding infectious medical waste disposal services for county facilities including the Detention Center, EMS, and Animal Care. The County is establishing a one-year contract with options for four annual renewals, commencing July 1, 2025. The detention facility currently utilizes 28-gallon reusable medical waste containers with an average consumption of 25 containers monthly, generating approximately 337 pounds of infectious waste per month. All waste is incinerated rather than autoclaved, and pickup occurs every other Wednesday. The contract encompasses universal infectious waste only, with no chemical or hazardous waste components, and excludes animal carcasses.
The current operational environment at the detention center demonstrates consistent and manageable waste volumes suitable for contracted disposal services. All waste generated at the facility is classified as universal infectious waste requiring incineration, with no pathological waste breakdown provided in the questionnaire response. The County reserves the right to award the contract to one or more vendors and may add or remove locations as operational needs dictate. No specific pricing terms, incumbent information, funding amounts, or additional salient requirements are detailed in this questionnaire response document.
