About this file
This document contains definitions and guidance for a pre-commercial tree thinning contract opportunity in Oregon issued by the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians (CTCLUSI). The contract requires the identification and preservation of "leave trees" of various species, the removal of "surplus trees" under 6-inch DBH, the removal of "competitive brush", and the proper treatment and scattering of slash. The contract specifies a target of 194 leave trees per acre with an average 15x15 foot spacing in non-roadside stands. For roadside stands, the requirements differ, primarily focusing on preserving trees under 2 feet tall and over 6-inch DBH. The contract provides detailed flagging and ribbon color guidelines to identify stand boundaries, leave trees, and other key elements.
The pre-commercial tree thinning services are part of a state and local contract opportunity in Oregon's Lane County. The contract is managed by CTCLUSI, and interested parties should contact Kyle Terry or Holley Carroll for more information.
