About this file

This document is a NEPA Environmental Checklist used to determine the environmental requirements associated with a proposed project to replace electrical feeders M2M, M12N, and switch SW204 at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut.

The project involves replacing 13.8KV electrical feeders and switch, as the existing feeder has failed. The work will be performed within existing ductbanks with no anticipated disturbance. The project is categorically excluded under NEPA, requiring only a 1-week review process. However, the project is subject to various environmental requirements, including stormwater management, wastewater discharge approval, hazardous materials management, and asbestos abatement. Specific design, construction, and operational requirements are detailed in the document. The project is part of a Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) with 7 pre-qualified contractors allowed to bid on the work.
